This class will be taught as English 12 Studies but with ELL adaptations over the course of a full year. Combining English Studies with an ELL course allows ELL students adequate time to work with the high-level content of English 12 studies, thus maximizing progress in language acquisition and achievement in relation to course content and core competencies. Content for English 12 linear and ELL Academic Literacy will be shared and course design is specific to the specialized needs of ELL students. Specifically embedded in this course will be a recognition of the value of multilingualism and a focus on building intercultural competency. It is designed for all levels of ELL students. Assessment is based on essays and tests with a final exam. A final mark for English 12 Studies is given at the end of June.
