Fashion and Textile Arts 9, 10, 11, 12. Unleash your creativity and learn hands-on, practical skills in this dynamic, project-based textiles and arts course. Designed for all skill levels, this course offers a creative exploration of textile design and craftsmanship, with a focus on sustainable and ethical practices. Students will experiment with a variety of techniques including fashion drawing, sewing techniques, knitting, embroidery, crocheting, weaving, felting with wool, jewelry making, vinyl design cutting and transfer, silk-screening, upcycling, and fabric painting. Ethical and environmental issues, such as sustainability and waste reduction, are woven throughout the curriculum, encouraging students to reflect on their creative processes and choices. Students will develop many skills, work with a variety of materials and build a portfolio of small projects.
