Athletic Leadership 10/11/12 is an outside the timetable course for students who are already involved in Mt Doug Athletics or have a desire to get involved in the future.  Students will be given the opportunity to learn and demonstrate leadership skills in many situations, including minor officiating Mt. Doug Athletic Events, organizing/implementing/refereeing lunch-break intramurals, helping with athletic events at Arbutus Middle School and possibly other community organizations, promotion of Mt Doug Athletics in the school (including social media), and helping to organize and run the school athletics banquet in May. The class will meet on one day a week after school, which will be used to organize school athletic endeavors as well as learning a number of athletic related topics such as basic First Aid and health topics related to athletic performance.  Assessment will be based on your contribution to a number of course activities,attendance/participation in our weekly after school meeting, and your number of volunteer hours with the school athletic teams. The program is best suited for students who have a strong interest in athletics who are responsible, well-organized, and self-disciplined.
