Let your own interests and passions guide your learning in Design and Innovation 11. In this course you will learn how to apply the steps of the design thinking process to creatively solve problems through meaningful project-based learning experiences. Once these skills have been achieved, the remainder of the course is designed by YOU. Follow your interests by creating and completing your own inquiry project.
Design and Innovation will have two parts:
- Part 1 will focus on developing the necessary planning, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration and multi-disciplinary thinking skills required for students to design their own passion projects.
- Part 2 will focus on students designing, developing and completing their own meaningful project based learning experiences.
This course will be held in a MAKER style learning environment where you have access to a variety of tooling, computer and basic electronics equipment, 3D printing technology, computer assisted manufacturing, advanced creative design software and more.
Students may take this course multiple times and at each grade level.
