Tech Ed 09: Mechanics

Mount Doug is happy to offer a course in our multi-purpose classroom for all new students. This course is made up of three components:

Metal
The first component will include various metal work projects. Students will learn various techniques and processes and will have the chance to make projects that they will be able to take home. Learners will safely acquire skills which include brazing, welding, metal forming and cutting. Personal creative projects are always welcomed including art metal and jewelry.

Power Mechanics
Theory of combustion engines will be discussed. Students will disassemble a single cylinder engine, rebuild and test.

Automotive
Learners who finish the above tasks will then start an “ Introduction to Automotive” unit.

Though this course is not a prerequisite for Automotive 11/12, it does create a solid foundation for that course, and is recommended.
