Advanced Placement Physics

Credits: 8
This is a calculus based course that covers topics found in a first year University course in classical mechanics.  Topics include kinematics, dynamics, statics, energy, momentum, rotational dynamics, gravitation, and simple harmonic motion.  Students will have an opportunity to write an advanced placement exam in May.  Success on the AP exam would give students units towards a bachelor degree at most post-secondary institutions around the world. Students planning on writing the AP Exam should register in Calculus in their second semester.
